History of The Sailfish Point Foundation
In 1999, the Sailfish Point Foundation was formed to provide scholarships to Sailfish Point’s employees, their dependents, and Martin County students. With a motto of “Changing Lives One Scholarship at a Time,” the Foundation hopes to help others achieve their potential through the scholarships they provide. Twenty-two years later, The Foundation remains dedicated to that vision. They have become the largest provider of scholarships within Martin County, awarding 1,500 individual scholarships to graduating seniors from local high schools as well as local nonprofits. This generosity has made an impressive and lasting impact on the education of so many, opening doors that a young person might never have dreamed possible.

Supporting Scholarship Recipients
The Foundation works to promote confidence and courage in its young scholars, sharing in their success stories and mentoring them in the next step of their journey. Supporting the dreams and ambitions of students is a lifelong goal of the Sailfish Point Foundation.
“This generous community has made an impressive and lasting impact on so many, and these scholars have in return given us so much,” said Kathy Batterson, President of the Sailfish Point Foundation. “We know and touch our scholars. We monitor their progress. We share in their success. They become like family and seeing their smiles and hearing the joy in their voices lifts our hearts.”
